The Foundation is located in a privileged place, the Boavista zone, which corresponds to the new part of the city. The Foundation is easy to reach from the various points of the city either by Bus, by Metro or by car. Furthermore, it is located near the exit of highway A1 (that connects Porto to Lisbon) and highway A3 / A4 (that connects Porto to the North of Portugal).

The buildings of the Foundation are surrounded by large gardens with trees and parking facilities. They have been used for cultural activities, such as congresses, conferences, music recitals, etc.

“Fundação Engenheiro António de Almeida” has a Museum where several pieces collected by its founder can be found: furniture, jewellery, textile, china, paintings, watches and coins. The numismatic collection, including Greek, Roman, Byzantine, French and Portuguese gold coins is of particular interest.

Getting to the Hotel

Upon arriving at the airport, the easiest way of going to the Hotel is by Taxi. The ride is about 20 minutes and the fair should be about 20-25 Euros maximum. You may alternatively catch the Metro at the Airport, get off at Casa da Música station, and then get a Taxi (5 minutes to the Hotel).
