jantar de solidariedade, comemorando os 40 anos da Liga
Portuguesa contra a Epilepsia, homenageando todas as pessoas que
contribuíram para o que foi e é a LPCE.

que será desenvolvido no Oxford Myasthenia Center, John

Prémio Sociedade de Ciências
Médicas / Merk Sharp & Dome
Este reconhecido prémio nacional que distingue
trabalhos de Epidemiologia Médica foi atribuído ao trabalho
“Prognóstico a longo prazo dos acidentes neurológicos
transitórios do Norte de Portugal”, das colegas Assunção
Tuna, Manuel Correia, Rui Magalhães e Maria Carolina Costa e
Silva.

Doença de
Devic
O Serviço de
Neurologia do Hospital de São João (Porto) estabeleceu um protocolo de
cooperação com a Clínica Mayo para análise NMO-IgG no sangue, estando
interessado em agregar instituições interessadas na identificação de
portugueses com doença de Devic. Os Hospitais da Universidade de Coimbra,
Hospital de Santo António (Porto), Hospital de São Marcos (Braga),
Hospital Pedro Hispano (Matosinhos), Hospital Egas Moniz (Lisboa) e o
Centro Hospitalar de Lisboa já aderiram ao projecto.

Michael Prize 2011
O Michael Prize é um prémio
internacional que distingue bianualmente a melhor
contribuição científica e/ ou clínica que promova o
desenvolvimento futuro na área da epileptologia. Foi
criado em 1963 na Alemanha e é actualmente um dos
prémios internacionais mais conceituados nesta
área., sendo especialmente dirigido a jovens
cientistas (menos de 45 anos de idade). O valor é de
20.000 euros. Para concorrer ao prémio de 2011 devem
submeter até ao máximo de 3 artigos originais em
inglês do período de 2009-2010, publicados ou não,
acompanhados de um currículo para o mail

2011 International
Congress Travel Grant Program
The
Movement Disorder Society (MDS) is offering up to 100
travel grants of a maximum amount of $1,000 USD each in
partial support of International Congress delegates in
financial need to facilitate their travel to and
participation in the
15th International Congress of Parkinson's Disease and
Movement Disorders in Toronto, ON, Canada, June 5-9,
2011.
International Congress registration fees will be waived
for all travel grant recipients, and the amount of each
travel grant given will be determined by the Awards
Committee based on criteria including the applicant’s
location in relation to the 2011 International Congress.
Candidates must complete and return the official
Travel Grant Application as well as send a copy of
the abstract(s) they have submitted to the 15th International
Congress.
The
deadline for the receipt of completed travel grant
applications is January 8, 2011. Successful awardees
will be notified by February 14, 2011.
